Preparing to go.....

It has always been a dream of both Nigel and myself to visit Thailand. I have been once before for a very brief stop in Bangkok but never had the opportunity (or the finances) to take a full trip. So when my sister Babs asked if we would like to join her and friends we saved a few pennies, took the plunge and booked the flights.

With Babs and Di having been a few times now we discussed the places we would like to visit and as they knew the areas left all the booking arrangements to them. I have to say looking at the hotels we are due to visit they (Di in particular) have done a fantastic job. They all look fabulous. We have a full and packed itinerary so may be ready for a rest when we get back but felt the need to cram as much in as we could as one never knows if we will ever return.

I won't spoil the surprises yet to come by divulging the itinerary but will try and blog each day to fill in the details with (hopefully) lots of pictures.

So who are the Magnificent Seven? Probably best to introduce at this stage as I am sure they will be mentioned often and it will save any explanations as we go along.

Me
Nigel
Babs - my sister from Cyprus
Di - Babs best friend from Cyprus
Steve - a very good friend from Cyprus
Daryl - Babs friend
Kerith - Daryl's wife

So the arrangements are all made and the suitcases are packed (well almost). They are actually half empty and half the luggage allowance so there may be a little shopping to be done when we get there although I am unsure whether anything will fit us as the Thais are so small. I am sure we will have a look though.

Just a couple of things to do tomorrow before we set off for a night at Manchester airport before our early flight via Paris. Have never flown with Air France before so that will be something new too :-).

1. Take Dave (the cat) to the cattery. Not something I enjoy doing as he always looks so sad but I am sure he will be fine and at least there we know he is safe and not out fighting with local bullies.

2. Show our house sitter (who we are very grateful to) how everything in the house works.

So stay tuned (if you are interested) for our adventure to Thailand.

Bon voyage ขอให้เดินทางโดยสวัสดิภาพ (kŏr hâi dern taang doi sà-wàt-dì-pâap).
